This Department comprising the departments of Mathematics, English, Physics & Chemistry was formed to train the first year students thoroughly in these basic core subjects. A strong foundation is laid during this year for the successful assimilation of engineering knowledge. These specialist departments aspire to provide a centre of common awareness and instill in the students a sense of human responsibility, leadership skills and decision making abilities.

The chief aim of the department is to strive for all round development of the students to prepare them to face real world. Every faculty of this department is committed to make this aim and aspirations a reality. To cater to the impending need of rejuvenating the “just-from-school” students, the Department of Science & Humanities leaves no stone unturned in the task of achieving the target. Shaping and moulding the students to suit the atmosphere of technical education is a must. This arduous assignment is being accomplished here in our institution to the maximum level.
