The pride of the institution is the Central library, which caters to the insatiable knowledge thirst of the voracious readers. It provides a serene atmosphere for deeper and concentrated study. The library has been fully automated with the application of Barcode Technology and houses separate sections for General, Reference, Periodicals and Catalogues. At present it has a collection of 15177 volumes of text and reference books to meet the requirements as per the latest syllabus of Anna University. It subscribes to a large number of dailies and journals, both national and international in various subjects. Open Access System is followed and Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) service is made available to all staff and students to save time in locating the books required. Reprographics services and Internet facilities are also available. Utmost care is taken in developing resources for each department.

Delnet Catalog
Library is a member of Developing Library Network (DELNET), which provides services like browsing of Union Catalogues, Inter Library Loan and Document Delivery Services. Interested Readers can access the Catalogues of other Libraries through DELNET and request the required books/documents to be procured from these libraries on loan for a limited period. The request for such documents can be submitted at library counter or through request forms available at Arasu Engineering College Central Library web page.
Circulation
Our staff members and the students are borrowing the books from the central library. The staff members can get 10 books per semester. The students can have 06 books for 15 days.
Reference
Staffs are available in the reference section of the reading area to suggest sources of information and to assist in locating the required materials.
Reprography
The readers can get the Xerox of interested articles or chapters from the library documents. The service is available free for permanent staff of AEC. The service is also available for AEC staff and other visitors on nominal charges of Re.0.50/per page.
Spiral
Our central Library is equipped spiral binding machine by which all the students and staff are much more benefited.
Lamination
Our central Library is also having lamination machine. All the staff members and the students are utilizing this facility at an affordable cost.
ID card printing
ID Card Printing Machine is another Milestone of our Central Library. The staff members and students of this institution are benefited by this machine.
Laser Printout
The readers can get the Laser Printout from the library documents or personal documents. The service is available with the nominal cost of Rs. 1/- per page.
Current Awareness Service (CAS)
This service provides the latest information to users in the area of Science and Technology and Engineering on demand.
